I don’t want to jinx myself, but I think winter is pretty much over! Since I’m so hopeful to I can say au revoir to my first Connecticut winter, I’m beginning to daydream of warm weather and adventures for Spring. Obviously, Baby Girl Kennedy’s arrival is at the top of my mind, but there’s just so much for us to look forward to with the upcoming season. From a possible day trip to my favorite colonial town and helping plan my baby shower, here’s a quick little preview of things to come and what’s happening with me this Spring.
Baby Girl Kennedy
The big event of the season is obviously Baby Girl Kennedy’s arrival. Although we are so excited for her, we aren’t quite ready just yet. The nursery and travel essentials are just beginning to arrive. That means the next few weekends will be dedicated to building furniture and finalizing details for her nursery. I have a vision! I just hope I can convince David to let me wallpaper the space. After she arrives, I’m so thankful to be able to take three months away from my 9 to 5. That also means I’ll be taking a break from blogging as well, although that timeframe isn’t quite set in stone yet.
My NYC Baby Shower
At the beginning of April, some of my most loved ones are making their way to Manhattan, some from Florida and Vermont, to celebrate Baby Kennedy. To say that I feel loved is such an understatement. The party favors are beginning to arrive and this sweet little get-together I have planned is finally beginning to take shape. I can’t wait to share more details as they unfold.
Dining Al Fresco in Rowayton
My favorite restaurant in Norwalk has been closed the past week for a Spring refresher. Even in that short amount of time Rowayton Seafood has been sorely missed by locals, including me! As the days get warmer, the chances of finding me on their outdoor patio get higher and higher. Apart from their incredibly fresh seafood, they also recently unveiled a seasonal mocktail, which has been such a blessing during my pregnancy. It’s only a matter of time before Baby Girl will join us for some dining al fresco in the New England sunshine.
Dinner with the Mayflower Inn
This weekend, we’re making the quick journey to Litchfield County for dinner at one of our favorite places in Connecticut. While the Mayflower Inn is only an hour away, it feels like such a retreat from the bustle of Fairfield County. With beautiful interiors designed by Kemble Interiors and an incredible menu, it’s the perfect escape if you live along the Connecticut Gold Coast or in the city.
Love from Connecticut,
Katie
