Styling Red Ballet Flats

Ballet Flats (10% off with code KATIE10)
As I look at my shoe collection, I notice that they are almost in tried and true neutrals. Black, navy, tan… I love something that I can wear no matter the outfit. The one pop of color that I love to have in my footwear is a bright and cheerful red. I have red espadrilles, red pumps, and now… red ballet flats. These flats from Margaux are simply stunning! The Italian Nappa leather with darling bow detail is honestly even prettier in person. Opening up the box sent a wave of inspiration to hopefully answer the question. “How do I style red ballet flats?” While the possibilities are endless, and red is so easily be a neutral, I pick 3 of my favorite ways for styling this blast of color.

Monochromatic
When a color is this beautiful and looks good on your skin tone, sometimes the best bet is to wear it from head to toe. Although It’s not the most commonly worn color in my closet, I’ve been known to give it some time to shine every once in a while. I am currently head over heels in love with this mini dress from Alice + Olivia. The zebra print is a fun addition to an otherwise classic boho style. Another great option would be to pair with a bright red midi dress. Either way makes me reminiscent of what I wore on our Italian honeymoon.

Pop of Color
This may be my favorite way to wear red ballet flats… Probably because I live in my Grayson button-down and white jeans. While bold ballet flats make for the great statement piece. It still is a staple look for the summertime. Yes, this look is probably most popular around the 4th of July, but it can obviously be worn year round, no matter where you call home. While accessorizing, a navy handbag just seemed like the right call. My Louis Vuitton handbag is such a special piece. The accent piping ties in perfectly with the ballet flats.

Nautical or French Inspired
I say both ‘nautical’ and ‘French’ because I honestly couldn’t decide between the two. Thinking of my favorite French company, St. James, I know it lies somewhere in the middle. Bold Breton stripes originate from the North of France and this dress from A.P.C. certainly fits the bill. These particular stripes are royal blue, but the same look can happen with navy and even black stripes. Seriously, the more I think about it, the more versatile red flats become!

Ballet flats are a classic. They belong in any and every shoe collection. That’s especially true if you’re someone who is constantly on their feet or who has to walk through the city. The Margaux Demi flat is one of the most comfortable shoes out there. If cherry red isn’t your style, a whole rainbow of neutrals (including leopard print) is available for you to wear throughout the day. Be sure to use the code KATIE10 to get 10% off your first pair.
