Here is yet another riveting installment of ‘Katie Tries Fall Styles.’ Today’s edition is all about suede leggings and I can honestly say that this is a completely new one for me folks. Suede, in general, is never really something that is in high demand in Florida. Even during the cooler months, it’s still muggy as can be and you never know when the random rain shower will pop up out of no where. But, new city and new weather means that I’m open to try anything. I’ve been admiring how crisp and equestrian they look when paired with classic pieces and I decided I wanted to try them out for myself.
If you’re shopping around for suede leggings, Tuckernuck needs to be your first stop. These leggings are under $100 and have become synonymous with Fall fashion. I love how soft and flattering they are. At the same time, I know they will help keep me warm when the weather gets cooler. You can also grab them in versatile black or this rich red for a little pop of color. At a lower price point, but equally amazing, is this pair from Old Navy. It’s a great option if you want to give some suede a chance, but not willing to take a financial plunge.
I also just couldn’t say no to this absolutely stunning scarf, also from Tuckernuck. At first, I thought green and coral was an interesting color combo for Fall, but it somehow all comes together perfectly, especially with the safari style print. If you don’t have one of their signature scarves in your rotation, you should seriously consider adding one. They are under $50 and can be styled in an unlimited number of ways. I’m mean they’re huge and you have a lot of material to work with. I’m always partial to the classic, tie-front way of wearing a scarf. Because of the price point, they also make for the perfect gift. Don’t forget, holiday shopping is just around the corner, after all.
Paired with this cream sweater from J. Crew Factory, I instantly felt Upper East Side chic and ready for Fall. I feel like I’ve really been coming into my own, style wise, since moving to the city. I’m able to play dress up without abandon and love every second of it. The best part is, I think I may have found my new Fall uniform. The only thing I have to do is grab more legging (like these faux-leather beauties from Tuckernuck) and more scarves. I’ve been dying to get my hands on an Hermes scarf. It’s a tough gig, but someone’s got to do it.
Love from NYC,
Katie
