Sarah Flint’s Lisbon Collection

I may be a little late to the game, but I think it’s better late than never. I’ve been touting my love for Sarah Flint shoes for the better part of a year. Slowly, but surely I’m converting all of my shoe closet to this brand. From everyday sandals to block heels to pumps, these shoes are some of the best you can find. While I’ve been focusing primarily on the basics, I finally bit the bullet on a pair of shoes I’ve been loving all summer.
I’ve never been to Portugal, apart from a quick layover in Lisbon. Still, I’ve heard only amazing things about this European country. Visiting both Lisbon and Porto are on the top of my bucket list, maybe 2021, but until them I can live vicariously through Sarah’s travels. Like so many before her, she left Portugal inspired and was able to channel that into a collection of shoes.
The apple of my eye from this collection was the world-famous Natalie ballet flat, reimagined in a blue azulejo jacquard print. The fabric, a silk-blend, was woven by a 300 year old family-owned mill in England called Stephan Walters and Son. This beautiful pattern is also available in the Perfect Emma (a personal favorite style) and the newer Perfect Block Sandal, in two different heights.
Even when I opened the shoe box for the first time, these flats make such a statement! My mind was swimming with different ideas on how to style them and what to wear them with. Ultimately, for their big debut, I decided to let them take center stage. This look was hugely inspired by one of my favorite pictures of Jackie Kennedy, on one of her many trips to Capri. The black short-sleeve sweater and white jeans combo will always be a classic option. I especially love how the lining of my rattan cross-body perfectly matches the new kicks.
Since it’s the end of the summer season, my flats are actually 30% off, along with the Perfect Emma and Perfect Block. My only regret is that I didn’t order these sooner! They make for the perfect splash of color against white or black. I’ve even been dabbling in some print mixing with this blue striped midi-skirt from J. Crew. Even though the print is so cheerful, it could easily transition for the different seasons. As fall and winter come, and the weather starts to cool, I’ll be pairing the flats with my favorite navy pieces.
It’s true that I spent almost all summer gushing over these flats. Because of that, I was able to firmly decide how much I wanted them! It wasn’t an impulse buy, and makes them feel so much more special. Each time I wear them, it reminds me that sometimes the best things come to those who wait.
Love from Florida,
