Harbour Island holds a special place in my heart. When I took my first trip there, I immediately fell in love with its charm, beauty, and laid-back luxury. While wandering through the island’s boutiques, I discovered India Hicks’ work at Sugar Mill and The Landing. Her sophisticated island aesthetic left a lasting impression on me. Her ability to seamlessly blend British elegance with island-inspired style became an endless source of inspiration. Upon returning home, I devoured all of her books and drew further inspiration for my own personal style.
Fast forward to today, and I couldn’t be more excited to see her collaboration with Tuckernuck come to life. This collection feels like the meeting of two brilliant minds, and every piece shines with refined yet casual style. A standout from the collection is the Domino Dress, which is even more beautiful in person.
The Domino Dress draws you in with its captivating toile design. The hand-drawn illustrations, inspired by India’s homes in the Bahamas and England, add a personal and meaningful touch to the dress. The print evokes memories of my time on Harbour Island, which has already convinced me to book another trip in 2025.
This dress balances an effortlessly flirty and youthful mini-length with modest, long sleeves and a structured silhouette. The puff sleeve detail adds a playful yet refined touch, while the hidden cuff zippers provide a tailored fit. The comfort of this dress cannot be understated either—its cotton fabric and slight spandex lining make it comfortable enough to wear all day. Whether you’re wandering cobblestone streets or lounging seaside, the Domino Dress will carry you through the day in style and comfort.
India herself describes the dress as deceptively comfortable, with “sneaky little zips” for a perfectly tight cuff, adding, “I like to show a little bit of leg.” And while the dress is named after her teenage daughter, it’s designed for all ages, making it a versatile piece that easily transitions from youthful to timeless.
This dress is the epitome of this wanderlust spirit—effortlessly chic, versatile, and full of life. With the toile print as a visual homage to India Hicks’ homes, the Domino Dress is a work of art. This collaboration is a celebration of style, and I’m thrilled to wear it for years to come—perhaps during my next trip to Harbour Island!
