Ironic Boat and Tote

Although I’m a little late to the trend, better late than never, right? You probably have seen @ironicboatandtote floating around your Instagram. This account is dedicated to the ever-classic LL Bean Boat and Tote Bag, with a twist! Because of their customization tool, with 15 font options and over 45 thread colors, people have been getting a little sassy with their embroidery. People’s creativity and snark will never cease to amaze me! I always love a good tongue-in-cheek saying but wanted to make sure that what I picked was just right. How’s a girl to choose?
After deep meditation, and enlisting David’s help, I came up with a list of options that felt “me.” While I love the crass options, there’s no way I would feel okay using it at the next Kennedy family reunion. Instead, what better opportunity to brandish your ride-or-die favorite cocktail? Et voila! The Daiquiri Tote was born. I had a little bit of a scare when LL Bean flagged it as a trademark, which is against their policy. “No. No.” I assured them. “I’m just a 30-something lush trying to find her place in a fun trend.”
Since the tote arrived, I got the Small, it’s become my go-to bag of choice. From running errands to brunch in the city with friends, it fits anything and everything I need to carry with me. This will not be the last Ironic Tote Bag I order. I’m ready to go all in and have my eye on the Extra-Large Tote. As soon as I figure what I want it to say to the world, I’ll press “Order.”
Love from NYC,
Katie
