My Everyday Uniform for All Seasons
Button-Down Shirt || Sweater || Jeans || Ballet Flats || Similar Handbag || Earrings
As someone who has worked from home since 2020, I’ve seen my weekly rotation of clothes drastically change in the past three years. What was once a closet full of teacher friendly ensembles, mostly from J. Crew and J. Crew Factory, have been minimized down to the essentials. After a few years of staring at the same work pieces, I decided to have a major closet purge. What’s left exactly? Well, a lot of empty space (which I hope to fill up with a killer capsule collection), and my favorite weekly uniforms.
I tend to have the same handful of outfits on repeat from week to week. I strictly believe in getting fully dressed for a day at my desk, but don’t haven’t been going above and beyond. After all, who’s going to see me besides my husband and dog? The number one “offender” is an outfit that I admit I may wear several times in one week: an oversized button-down and cropped straight-leg jeans. It’s a uniform I can wear regardless of the season. The exact pieces may change, with a few different color combinations. But this is the “fit” that I gravitate towards week after week. While it’s nothing to write home about, I like to tell myself that it’s very Jane Birkin/Parisian chic!
Remember, your signature outfit doesn’t have to be anything extraordinary, just something that you feel your most confident in. At the moment, it’s this super casual outfit, but isn’t that what makes it effortless?
Love from NYC,
Katie
