Our Valentine’s Day Plans

So, it comes as a huge surprise to some people when I share that David and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. Honestly, we just never have! Come to think of it, we only minimally celebrate anniversaries too. It’s so cliche, but on days like that, we are perfectly happy not bothering with gifts and enjoying each other’s company. This Valentine’s Day will that same mindset.
Don’t get me wrong! St. Pete has plenty of romantic options! Last week, I shared my perfect date night itinerary, linked here in case you missed it. Still, the idea of spending a Valentine’s Day in with a home cooked meal, bottle of wine, and movie sounds really appealing. I’m 100% okay with skipping the crowds and holiday craziness. It’s absolutely a sign that I’m getting old!
Even though we won’t be making any Valentine’s Day dinner reservations, I still plan to dress the part! And trust me, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all red and pink with hearts. Last week, David and I had a little impromptu date night of our own after a particularly trying day at work. So, I walked into town with this perfect work to night outfit.
It’s no secret that I love tweed, and I have a few more pieces to share this month, this jacket from H&M may be my new favorite. The color combination is one that you don’t see too often at such an affordable price point. It’s a mix of ice blue, sea foam green, and a few flecks of copper. I was over the moon excited to find out that it perfectly matches a long-sleeve top from J. Crew that I already had in my closet. Paired with a pair of navy pants and espadrilles, it turned into a perfect date night look along Beach Drive in St. Pete.
Whether you’re out on the town or snuggled at home, whenever you celebrate, have an amazing Valentine’s Day! Be sure to check back the rest of the week for my own spin on romantic inspired outfits that will be just perfect for date night all year long!
