When you think of the Hamptons, you often think of an epic White Party in Bridgehampton or eating Lobster Rolls in Montauk. Since I had never been before, I didn’t quite know what to expect. I was just happy to be invited to stay with our friends at their new house in Hamptons Bays and have a brief escape from Florida. The three days passed by in a flash, and I realized that it was probably the most relaxing weekend I’ve had in a long while. So, if you’re looking for a jam-packed Hamptons itinerary, you’ll need to go elsewhere. To learn more about our perfectly quiet Hamptons weekend, keep reading!
Grilling Out Poolside
Since we arrived Friday afternoon, our friends were already in full relaxation mode. Their pool was open, and the weather couldn’t have been better! As soon as possible, we slipped into our swimsuits to join in the lounging and sunbathing. I’m thankful for the men taking care of the grilling the entire weekend. Nothing says weekend like hamburgers, hot dogs, and fresh fish on the grill! Yum!
Coffee and Donut Run in Westhampton
On Saturday morning, we got up well-rested and ready to take on the day! That meant starting with a quick drive to the beach. We admired each and every house, having an intense debate if our “future” Hamptons home will be a traditional or modern design. From there, we stopped for coffee and donuts. Even though there was a slight chill in the air, I still had to order an iced dirty chair from North Fork Roasting. After perusing the local farmer’s market, we found ourselves at Beach Bakery to pick up jelly donuts. This was definitely the spot to be, and for a good reason. The donuts were some of the best I’ve ever had!
Bottomless Bottles of Rosé
Is it really a trip to the Hamptons if you don’t have a least one glass of Rosé? Whether you pick Hamptons Water or Wölffer Estate, the perfect weekend calls for several pours. It pairs perfectly with lounging in the sun and good company. I can’t even tell you how many bottles of spirits we went through over the course of three days because the answer is almost shameful!
Our Coastal Fall Decor
Sunday morning gave us the perfect opportunity to drive into Southampton and see what all the fuss was about. My dear friend, Sydney, is from here, so I was thrilled to see her hometown. Sunday Brunch was in full swing by the time we got there, but I could have walked amongst the restaurants and boutiques all day. The local Sotheby’s even had a pop-up collection for the Colony in Palm Beach, and I felt right at home! On our next visit, I can’t wait to explore the town even more!
Our Coastal Fall Decor
Each night ended with a poolside campfire. Since it’s just way too hot to have a fire during Florida summers, this seemed like such a special treat. We had music playing, more Rosé, and just enjoyed the company. Another highlight may also have been the gooey-gooey s’mores. It doesn’t matter what age you are, these are always the perfect summertime dessert.
Our Coastal Fall Decor
When it was time to start prepping for our Sunday evening flight, I had the incredible realization that I didn’t look at my phone or computer practically the entire weekend. The one exception was when David and I were looking at local real estate. You know a trip is good when you’re starting to think about make such a huge commitment. While we’re probably not moving to the Hamptons any time, it’s undoubtedly fun to daydream and look at the gorgeous homes. All I can say is, who knows what the future holds!

A weekend in the Hamptons… I now fully understand the hype! Our perfectly quiet weekend was exactly what I needed to feel fully recharged. As I was thinking the entire weekend, if you ever get a chance to visit a friend’s Hamptons house, the answer should always be YES!
