So, this blog post is coming to you much later than I normally would like, but it’s been an absolutely bananas day! Such is life for a teacher! Anyways, back to the blog post…
When it’s a cloudy day in the city, I can’t help but grab a bright color to lighten then mood. That’s exactly what happened when David and I decided to hope over the river to visit DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge. I just had to wear this gorgeous lavender skirt I picked up from Nordstrom.
I think the best part about this little skirt, besides the price, is its asymmetrical hem-line. It gives just enough character and changes the entire look of an otherwise simple outfit, along with the pleats and belted details. And the price? This skirt can be yours for under $70 and will be extremely versatile, no matter the season.
Pairing this cream sweater from J. Crew Factory gives the whole look an almost ballerina-like quality. I am, by no means, in the dance world, but it’s always fun to dress the part. These matching nude heels from Marc Fisher complimented the outfit perfectly and were so comfy as I walked along the East River waterfront.
As much as I loved this skirt, David was seriously questioning the quality control and thought the uneven hem was clearly a mistake. I absolutely reassured him that all was well in my closet and that he would be seeing this skirt more than once. Let me know what you think of this style in the comments below!
Love from NYC,
