Is being a grand millennial still a thing? Since I think it’s more of a lifestyle than a quickly cyclical trend, it’s a style that I’ve brought to the end of 2022 and beyond. If you have a like-minded loved one who loves impeccable florals, needlepointing, and ruffles, this is the gift guide for you. Here are 12 gift ideas for the grand millennial: a girl with an older soul and a strong sense of self!
Travel Coffee Table Book
Daydreaming about travel keeps me sane and happy all year round, but it gets heightened closer to the new year. A new calendar, a whole opportunity to schedule wonderful trips! These coffee table books from Assouline are inspired by some of the most incredible destinations in the world: Tuscany, Palm Beach, Mykonos, and the list goes on and on. Gift a favorite to your most jet-set of friends and start their very own collection.
Needlepoint Pillow
Needlepointing has taken the grand millennial world by storm and has seen the greatest resurgence. My grandma taught me how to crochet and cross-stitch, but in 2023 I hope to give needlepointing a try. If time isn’t on your side, but you still love the tongue-in-cheek sayings, gift a pre-made needlepoint pillow to freshen up your loved one’s home.
Sweet Wall Calendar
For over 20 years, I would always receive a desk calendar and wall calendar to celebrate the new year. The themes changed over time, but my love of calendars and planners has stayed strong. This travel-inspired calendar is absolutely beautiful! It’s a surefire way to dress up your kitchen, bedroom, or office.
Ginger Jar
It’s just a fact. Every grand millennial has an ever-growing collection of colorful ginger jars. As I write this, I have at least five pieces at my desk. Help add to the chinoiserie shelf by gifting a memorable piece this holiday season. You can find many options via Etsy, but don’t be afraid to do some thrifting in your town.
Alluring Perfume
Speaking as a grand millennial, she may already have a signature perfume that defines her. Still, it’s fun to add something new to the rotation. I would opt for a classic floral scent, but it shouldn’t be overwhelming. I personally love the AERIN collection. Each scent is so unique, I’m often swapping to match my mood or event. A current favorite is Waterlily Sun. With a combination of bergamot and jasmine, it will become an instant classic.
Nap Dress
Hill House Home has long been one of my favorite designers. Their floral prints are always absolutely stunning and can be worn virtually year-round. For a wintery Christmas in Vermont, I’ll be wearing mine with a turtleneck and cozy leggings underneath. Gift one of their signature nap dresses for the holiday season, or think long-term and gift an option that will be perfect for any future warm-weather escapes!
Lettuceware Tea Cup
Lettuceware of any variety was a hot item in Palm Beach, Florida, during the 1960s. There’s something so fun and whimsical about them. For whatever reason, it gives me visions of a tea party from Alice in Wonderland. This cup and saucer set from Tory Burch are perfect to start a collection. Be sure to include your favorite flavor of tea bags for a complete gift.
Bow Rattan Tote Bag
I have a deep love for anything rattan! It adds a fun coastal element to any outfit. Gifts a handbag or clutch to your loved on now, and they can use it on their next great vacation. Pamela Munson is one of my favorite destinations for rattan, and this Atlantic-Pacific collaboration tote bag is too perfect!
Coupe Glass Set
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you probably know that a coupĂ© glass set from Estelle’s Colored Glass is almost always on my gift guides. That’s because they are simply stunning and deserve to have a place on the bar cart. They come in a rainbow of colors (literally) and come in stemmed, seamless, and coupe options. Pick a style and shade that best matches the grand millennial’s style, and they may be tempted to use them right away.
Floral Scarf
The scarves from Sarah Flint are truly a work of art! I could spend hours looking at the detail on her tropical floral. There’s honestly so much to drink in. Because of the large 51 square size, there’s an infinite number of ways to style and wear. Even if it’s just for a quick dinner out, grab this scarf on your way out the door for a great accessory that will receive so many compliments.
Mahjong Tile Set
Just the word Mahjong makes some people think about a Palm Springs retirement community, but it’s having a very chic comeback. Playing it on the phone is an excellent way to pass the time. That’s why I love this beautiful floral set from the Mahjong Line. Gift a set this holiday season and play during cocktail hour. This is most certainly not your grandma’s Mahjong.
Oversize Sunhat
This gift is for the grand-millennial who loves to be out in the sun. If your loved one prefers to spend the day in the garden or at the beach, then this wide-brimmed hat will be perfect for her! There is a rainbow of ribbons to choose from, or you can opt for an exceptional vintage floral one instead.
I know in my heart that the grand millennial style isn’t a trend, but more so a lifestyle! I promise you it’s here to stay. Shopping for the traditional set in your life couldn’t be easier. Who knows, you’ll probably end up loving something for yourself! Happy gifting!
