Guide Guide: The Hostess
Jacket || Tee || Pants || Heels || Clutch || Earrings
Okay! Fine! I know I’ve talked up waiting for gift guides until after December, but there’s one that I just couldn’t wait to share with you! I promise it applies to Thanksgiving and you may just end up thanking me. Thanksgiving is a week away and, chances are, you’re probably heading to someone else’s home for the holiday. I think it’s always crucial to not show up empty handed. Even if it’s a bottle of wine or additional dish, having something to present to your hostess is simply good manors. If they are holding a bigger event, with lots of additional guests, you may even want to consider a gift as a way to say thank you.
Whenever I think of gifts for a hostess, I always try and think of items that would be useful around the home. Here’s a quick roundup for my first gift guide, all under $100, of the season.
LEXON Oblio Wireless Charger & UV Cleaner:
The germaphobe in me was immediately intrigued by this device. What a unique gift it would make too! Thinking about all of the germs my phone is exposed to, and then still putting it at my face, gives me the chills! This device will charge your phone and kill 99.9% of germs in 20 minutes. I consider that a win-win!
VINGRACÉ Wine Chiller:
The next time you want to bring a bottle of wine as a gift, this chiller would make for the perfect add-on. Especially on a warm day, this helps keep that bottle of wine chilled for hours. It also comes in five different colors to match personality and home decor.
CROSLEY Radio Deluxe Turntable:
The old soul in me thinks there’s nothing dreamier than a classic record player. This portable turntable is brought into the 21st century with its sleek design and Bluetooth compatibility. Even though it’s designed for a music-lover on the go, it is beautiful enough to leave out on display permanently. Include a record from your host’s favorite artist for a lovely personal touch.
CLICK & GROW 3 Self Watering Indoor Garden
Is there anything better than fresh herbs on a home cooked meal? With this indoor garden, it’s possible no matter where your hostess lives. Even if they’re lacking in the green thumb department (and I’m right there too), this garden is self watering and does the scheduling for you. It’s the perfect gift for the home chefs in your life.
FISHS EDDY Artist Palette Cheese Tray
I find charcuterie boards to be a work of art and now the tray can match that masterpiece. If you’re on a budget, this is such a great gift idea. It’s a steal at $33. Your hostess will be so grateful, they may feel compelled to debut it that very evening.
I simply fell in love with this sweet little vase. It’s all about girl power and can work with nearly any kind of decor. Since a beautiful bouquet of flowers is such a standard hostess gift, why not add a one-of-kind vase that they will simply love? It’s also available in three different color schemes for whoever is on your shopping list.
SOH MELBOURNE St. Nicolas Candle
For me, the holiday season just isn’t complete without a festive evergreen candle. I’ve gone back and worth with different brands, but I can’t wait to try this one. It has that woody scent I’d love with just a touch of coconut and almond oil.
NEW YORK PUZZLE COMPANY Snow Day Jigsaw Puzzle
My Grandma always loved a good jigsaw puzzle. It’s such a fun way to spend a few hours with loved ones. This puzzle from Tuckernuck is inspired by the New Yorker magazine and is just right picture for the holiday season. At under $20, it’s perfect if you need that one extra gift to put under the tree.
Obviously, the holidays isn’t all about the presents, but being with those that you love. Of course, a thoughtful gift is always appreciated. By coming to your next event with a small gift to show your gratitude, you can almost guarantee a repeat invitation.
Love from NYC,
Katie
