Is being a grand millennial still a thing? I know it was trendy last year, thank you for sheltering in place, and it’s been on my radar for a few years. Since I think it’s more of a lifestyle than a quickly cyclical trend, it’s a style that I’ve brought into the end of 2021 and beyond. If you have a loved one who is like-minded and loves impeccable florals, needlepoints, and ruffles, this is the gift guide for you. Here are 12 gift ideas for the grand millennial: a girl with an older soul and a strong sense of self!
Moiré Headband
Hill House is a grand millennials paradise with everything in their collection being an absolute winner! While I could go on about how perfect their Nap Dresses are, I think their Alice Headband would make the perfect stocking stuffer. Lightly stuffed and handmade in Italy, it’s the kind of accessory you can wear all day! I love the pink moirĂ© pick, but the tartan is just perfect for the holidays.
Floral and Pearl Earrings
Floral and pearl go together for the grand millennial like peanut butter and jelly. These darling earrings are an instant classic. I can envision wearing them daily because they already work with about 80% of my wardrobe. In truth, they are a bit of a splurge but are something that your loved one will cherish for decades to come.
Lettuceware Tea Cup
Lettuceware of any variety was a hot item in Palm Beach, Florida, during the 1960s. There’s something so fun and whimsical about them. For whatever reason, it gives me visions of a tea party from Alice in Wonderland. This cup and saucer set from Tory Burch are perfect to start a collection. Be sure to include your favorite flavor of tea bags for a complete gift.Â
Blockprint Maxi Dress
Banjanan has long been one of my favorite designers. The blockprint florals are always absolutely stunning and perfect for wearing during the long Florida summer. I like to pack a handful of their dresses and tops on every beach vacation. While I’m wearing one that’s perfect for a warm Christmas morning, I also brought the pink dress on our last trip to Harbour Island. It’s comfortable, flattering, and has pockets!
Mahjong Tile Set
Just the word Mahjong makes some people think about a Palm Springs retirement community, but it’s having a very chic comeback. Playing it on the phone is an excellent way to pass the time. That’s why I love this beautiful floral set from the Mahjong Line. Gift a set this holiday season and play during cocktail hour. This is most certainly not your grandma’s Mahjong.Â
Travel Coffee Table Book
Has anyone had a serious case of wanderlust since the year, well, 2020? Daydreaming about travel keeps me sane and happy all year round, but it gets heightened closer to the new year. A new calendar, a whole opportunity to schedule wonderful trips! These coffee table books from Assouline are inspired by some of the most incredible destinations in the world: Tuscany, Palm Beach, Mykonos, the list goes on and on. Gift a favorite to your most jet-set of friends and start their very own collection.
Embroidered Rattan Clutch
Maybe it’s because I live in the Sunshine State, but I have a deep love for anything rattan! It adds a fun coastal element to any outfit. Gifts a handbag or clutch to your loved on now, and they can use it on their next great vacation. Pamela Munson is one of my favorite destinations for rattan, and this Julia Amory collaboration clutch is too perfect!Â
Quirky Needlepoint Canvas
Needlepoint has taken the grand millennial world by storm and has seen the greatest resurgence. My grandma taught me how to crochet and cross-stitch, but in 2022 I hope to give needlepointing a try. Etsy is flush with whimsical or tongue-in-cheek canvas, but always be sure to look at the gems from Lycette. Pick one that suits your loved one’s personality.
Oversize Sun Hat
This gift is for the grand-millennial who loves to be out in the sun. This year purchased a Sarah Bray hat for myself, and it made its big debut on our most recent trip to Harbour Island. If your loved one prefers to spend the day in the garden or at the beach, then this wide-brimmed hat will be perfect for her! There is a rainbow of ribbons to choose from, or you can opt for an exceptional vintage floral one instead.Â
Journal and Pen Set
I would write in my diary every night when I was a kid. It was where my love for writing first began. While that has transitioned over to blogging, I still keep a journal handy with me at all times. I’ve become an ardent list maker, but I also like to jot down ideas and copy when the mood strikes. A journal set would make a thoughtful gift for the girl who likes to stay device-free. Add a striking pen for a complete set!
Ladylike Floral Heels
Sarah Flint may very well be the queen of grand millennial style. Her entire line of pristinely designed shoes are made with classic style in mind! I have an ever-growing collection of her heels, flats, and sandals. The next pair on my dream list are these ladylike floral heels. The cerise floral fabric will somehow work as a neutral and paired with all kinds of colors. If heels are not your style, they also come in her signature Natalie Flats, along with a darling barrette and headband. Use with my code SARAHFLINT-BAKATIE for $50 off your first pair!
Coupé Glass Set
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you probably know that a coupé glass set from Estelle’s Colored Glass is almost always on my gift guides. That’s because they are simply stunning and deserve to have a place on the bar cart. They come in a rainbow of colors (literally) and come in stemmed, seamless, and coupe options. Pick a style and shade that best matches the hostess’ style, and they may be tempted to use them right away.
I know in my heart that the grand millennial style isn’t a trend, but more so a lifestyle! I promise you it’s here to stay. Shopping for the traditional set in your life couldn’t be easier. Who knows, you’ll probably end up loving something for yourself! Happy gifting!
Love from Florida,
Katie
