There’s something about a monochromatic outfit that instantly feels put together, even when comfort is the top priority. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward head-to-toe navy—an effortless alternative to black that still looks polished and refined.
This look is a perfect example. A navy cashmere sweater paired with matching navy sweater pants from J.Crew creates an elevated yet incredibly comfortable base. The softness of the cashmere makes it feel like loungewear, but the monochromatic styling keeps it looking intentional. Sweater pants have become my go-to for winter—they offer the ease of leggings but with a bit more structure and warmth.
To break up the navy while maintaining the streamlined feel, I layered a classic black wool topcoat over the look and finished it off with black leather loafers. The combination felt polished yet relaxed, making it ideal for a crisp winter walk through Rowayton. Of course, no winter stroll is complete without a warm latte in hand.
Monochrome dressing doesn’t have to mean stiff or overly formal. By playing with textures—cashmere, wool, and leather—this outfit maintains depth and interest while staying within a single color palette. It’s the perfect balance of cozy and chic, proving that staying warm doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style.
