As I write this, we are currently amid Hurricane Ian, and thinking about our overnight trip to Miami seems like the perfect distraction! A few weekends ago, David made a quick work trip to Miami, so I decided to come along for the ride. Before business, we booked an overnight mini-vacation at the Goodtime Hotel on South Beach. Because of the incredibly stunning interior design, this has been on my hotel bucket list since it opened a year ago. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you find yourself in the Miami area! Here’s a recap of our stay at the Goodtime Hotel.
The Goodtime Hotel
The Goodtime Hotel opened as a fresh-faced newcomer to the Miami Beach scene in April 2021. Owners Pharrell Williams and David Grutman teamed up with interior designer Ken Fulk. The result is a pink and sea green space that feels more in tune with the French Rivera than the bustling nightlife of South Beach. My favorite space in the hotel is their library. It was such a quiet oasis to drink coffee and relax while we waited for our hotel room to be ready. The endless pink details and knick-knacks spoke to the grand millennial in me. I now have a refund motivation to go antiquing and thrifting in South Florida because that’s where most of the treasures can be found! Our room was quaint but just perfect for an overnight stay. If you want to stay longer, I recommend booking the suite for extra space.
The Strawberry Moon
Also, a part of the Goodtime campus, and equally as important, is an on-site restaurant called Strawberry Moon. This wonderful epicurean experience includes a coffee shop, restaurant, and pool bar. All are equally wonderful. So much so that it’s tempting never to leave the hotel and just relax poolside. Friday through Sunday afternoons, this little oasis bursts with life as it hosts an epic pool party, DJ included. Snag a spot as early as you can and spend the day people-watching. Afterward, have some delicious Mediterranean fare from the restaurant, which I will add has one of the best Happy Hours in all of South Beach!
Stay tuned for a few more posts from Miami! Although it’s just a four hour drive away, it seems like a country away, and I’m so happy to have been able to explore it more. In the meantime, please give all your love to the Southern Gulf Coast, as this region was devastated by Hurricane Ian. No matter how different Floridians may seem, we stick together in times of hardship.
Love from Miami,
Katie
