Jump Into the New Year
Jumpsuit || Heels || Handbag || Earrings || Bracelet
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a fun jumpsuit and ‘jumping’ into the New Year seems like the perfect opportunity. I cannot believe that the decade is finally coming to a close. So many thoughts are beginning to float around as I mentally prepare for starting 2020. As soon as the clock strikes midnight, I’ll be sharing my goals for the next 366 days. Remember, it’s a leap year! Until then, here are some tips I have on getting ready for the new year.
Take A Look At Your Finances
Especially after the all of your holiday shopping, personal finances can look like they took a major beating. In your downtime before 2020 is a great time to get yourself in check. I’m very thankful that David has an extremely solid handle on this, but it’s still a conversation we routinely have. How much are we saving? How can we save more? It’s always the most discussion to have, but is necessarily, nonetheless.
Map Out Future Travel
While you’re thinking about finances, upcoming travel should be a huge part of that equation. Obviously, you may not know about every single trip coming your way in 2020. There are a few trips I hope to take and to get ready, I’m making a mock itinerary to get a sense of how much it will cost. That way, I know now how much to save and won’t be slapped with sticker shock.
Invest In A New Planner
Each year, around this time, I like to invest in a new planner. My goodness, do I love a new planner! For me, this is the ultimate way to get ready for the new year. I happily write down important dates, birthdays, and all of the events I have lined up. Start off on the right foot and know exactly where you need to be in 2020.
Get Re-Focused With New Goals
There are so many statistics as to why and how New Years Resolutions don’t work. I still think it’s a good idea to make a list of overarching goals to keep in mind. These shouldn’t be anything too specific or daunting. Instead of saying I want to lose 20 pounds by June, you can think about I want to eat healthier and workout more often. That way, there is less sense of failure and less pressure to succeed.
2020 is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited. The new year is an excuse to begin a new chapter and start with a sparkling clean slate. Get yourself mentally prepared and you’re almost guaranteed success as you jump into the New Year.
Love from NYC,
Katie
