When you’re on vacation with your significant other, the whole trip can seem like one big date night. Still, I love making night extra special and stands out from all of the rest. From New Orleans to Sweden, we’ve had a special dinner on every trip we’ve gone on and Bermuda was no exception!
Coffee in Hamilton
After a very full day of doing absolutely nothing except walking into town for coffee and shopping, we came back to our room at the Hamilton Princess to rest up for our own Bermuda version of date night. Since many businesses are closed for the winter, we quickly studied up on where we should go.
Rum Swizzle Cocktail Hour
We started our date night with light snacks and cocktails (okay, so maybe just Rum Swizzles for me) at Marcus’. Marcus Samuelsson is a world renowned chef and I’ve been wanting to stop by his Harlem restaurant, Red Rooster, for a while now and this was such a treat! Their entire menu is mouth-watering, but we were huge fans of the Chowder Bites with a black rum aioli. No meal was complete without them!
Dinner Downtown
Afterward, we strolled into town for dinner at the Devil’s Isle Cafe in downtown Hamilton. A coffee shop by day, this little spot transforms into an intimate restaurant that rivals any European bistro. Their menu is extensive and full of options with high-quality ingredients that will put a smile on any foodie’s face. Taking in the island spirit, David opted for the fish tacos while I, full from our snacking, had a delicious and beautiful Greek Salad. Devil’s Isle Cafe is also a great place to grab a pint of the local Bermudian beer.
Hotel Nightcap
To round out the night, we grabbed a coffee to go, stocked up on snacks at the local grocery (not as romantic), and ended up back at our hotel for a nightcap. The Crown and Anchor was absolutely the place to be on a Saturday night in Bermuda. The rum swizzles were pouring, the band was playing, and the people were dancing! Although it wasn’t our most adventurous or late nights out, it was still one that I will always cherish.
How would you spend your island date night?
Love from NYC,
Katie
