Beautiful Shades of Orange
Dress (extended sizes)|| Similar Heels || Clutch || Earrings || Bracelet
Despite the name of my blog, orange isn’t a color I normally gravitate towards. I think it must have something to do with my already orange skin tone and the fear of looking washed out. That being said, I’ve noticed myself shopping for more pieces in this bright and cheerful color. It raises my spirits in this uncertain time and feels like I’m wearing a ray of sunshine. Fun fact though, if you would have asked 4th grade me about my favorite color, it was orange all the way. For a fresh update to your wardrobe, here are some of my favorite orange pieces I would have loved in my childhood.
GAL MEETS GLAM Zinnia Dress
If you want to incorporate a new color into your rotation, sometimes its best to just take the plunge and go for a bold dress. This little number from Gal Meets Glam makes a big statement in a ladylike design. The bow details are just darling and the deeper hue will make almost anyone’s tan pop.
HEREU Mini Tote Bag
It’s no secret that I have a deep love for all things rattan and wicker. This sweet mini bag has a fun orange accent and a long strap for functionality. It would make for the perfect pop against a stark white outfit. It’s getting dangerously close to making its way home.
H&M Linen Blend Wrap Skirt
I fell in love with this skirt the moment I laid eyes on it. Actually, I had a pair of capris in almost the same print when I was a kid. That just goes to show how little my style has actually changed in the past twenty years. Nowadays, this skirt would be perfect with a simple white tank top and brown sandals.
BØRN Betti Loafers
For whatever reason, I’ve had a pair of orange Tod loafers on my wish list. These shoes evoke that same kind of style, but at a fraction of the cost. As an added bonus, because they are Børn, you know they are going to be incredibly comfortable.
CLOSED Button Down Shirt Dress
I clearly have a beach day on my mind. I’ve been daydreaming of future resort vacations and shopping for swimsuits and coverups. I love the fun orange stripes on this particular button down. It’s even oversized for when you want to throw it on and head to the resort’s bar.
BUNNY EYEZ Reading Glasses
I’ve been using my blue lens glasses more and more. Thank goodness for them because I’ve been spending so much time staring at the computer every day. These reading glasses serve as a great accessory, even if you’re the only person who will see you wear them.
KULE Striped Shorts
Another great quarantine piece would be this pair of athletic inspired shorts. I’ve had a few t-shirts from this brand, so I can vouch for how comfortable they are. The terry material is so soft and is yet another way of feeling like you’re wearing a pair of pajamas.
J. CREW Cable Knit Sweater
The final pick is because I just can’t resist a great cable knit sweater. I’ve seen and owned them in cream and navy, but this is my first time seeing one in such a bright, almost over the top, shade of orange. Don’t let the color intimidate you though. Wear it with a pair of olive green shorts or chino pants and I promise it will seem less daunting.
Orange is a pretty common color to spot in Florida. Between beautiful historic buildings, one of a kind blossoms, and bright patterns, it’s okay to just embrace it. To see more of my favorite orange picks, be sure to take a look below. Which ones are your favorites?
