Another St. Pete Date Night

Another St. Pete date night! The Sunshine City is home. On and off, I’ve lived here in the area for over 10 years. Because of that, I’ve learned a thing or two about having a night out with loved ones. Last year, I created my first date night itinerary, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This year, I’m sharing Volume 2. Make reservations now and you can have a perfect St. Pete date night.
Indulge in a Mini Spa Day
Before your date night, give yourself some time to self-indulge… Even if it’s for an hour or so. My current place in town for “me” time is Paint Nail Bar on Central Ave. It’s a non-toxic, full service nail salon, and their work is incredible! Getting a manicure and/or pedicure will be the perfect break between the workday and an evening out with your significant other. If you want your hair to be equally on point as your nails, I highly recommend Sip and Dry. It’s part of my weekly routine and is the reason why hair looks good for pictures.
Happy Hour at Flute and Dram
Flute and Dram, a cocktail spot on Beach Drive, maybe a city staple, but we’ve only recently started frequenting. I tend to judge a place based on their Happy Hour and this may be one of the best in town. There’s a long cocktail list, a massive whiskey collection, and live music many nights. Stay for a round or two and enjoy people watching on one of St. Pete’s busiest streets.
Dinner for Two at Cassis
It’s hard to imagine a city more different from Paris than St. Pete. That’s not always a bag thing. While Paris has history and oozes fashion, St. Pete is an up-and-coming town that’s beach adjacent. Still, you can find quintessential French cafe dining right in the heart of downtown. The Sunshine City began to reinvent itself in 2010 and Cassis is one of the original restaurants to pop up and help create that change. Their menu is full of classic French fare, you must try their French Onion Soup, and they have a vibrant bar. Make a reservation for two and split an order of Moules et Frites.
Night Cap at Intermezzo
Another place with a great Happy Hour, Intermezzo is also where I like to end an evening. By a day, it’s my favorite coffee shop in St. Pete, but at night the lights are down low, making it feel incredibly intimate. They have so many cocktails that I love, particularly the Rum Punch, but a nightcap calls for something special. I recommend ordering from the Ameri menu, which is specifically for after dinner digestif.
As St. Pete continues to grow and develop as a city, I’ll be right there to find the latest and greatest restaurants to share with you. I’m always happy to take recommendations, so comment your favorite St. Pete restaurants below. For more details, be sure to read my dining posts about Wild Child, Baba, and The Library. Bon appetite.
