The Start to Summer
Dress || Wedges || Clutch || Earrings || Necklace || Bracelet
Thanks to Memorial Day Weekend, it is unofficially the start of summer here in New York City. I am counting down the days left in my school year and finalizing my vacation plans. So far, Las Vegas, France, and Martha’s Vineyard are all lined up, but I’m always looking to add a few more trips to my itinerary. I also love to use Memorial Day as the starting bell to break out my favorite summer fabrics. Each and every year, seersucker is at the top of the list.
Story Time: I was out and about running errands last week and, by chance, popped into Urban Outfitters. I was on the hunt for this pair of toile printed jeans, but sadly they were out of stock. Instead, I was so pleasantly surprised by their huge selection of sundresses. Admittedly, I had not stepped into a UO for many years and simply thought they were way out of my league as far as style. This seersucker midi dress was my ultimate find of the day. Let me tell you, I’m kind of obsessed with it. The multi-color, tiered skirt is very flattering and I love the off-the-shoulder silhouette. Not only was it perfect for a Memorial Day stroll through the Upper East Side, but it makes me want to plan a Mediterranean vacation right away!
I think the best thing about this dress is the price. When it comes to a fun, statement making dress, sometimes a low price point is all that you need. It gives you an opportunity to stock up without a care. All of the dresses I was finding at Urban Outfitters were under $100. This one was way below, at a very nice $79. The price alone is worth a shopping trip, but you are also getting a dress that looks so unique and one-of-a-kind. People will think the price tag is so much more.
As soon as I got home that day, I immediately hopped online to see what else I was missing out on. There were so many darling pieces that will be just perfect for summer. Whether it be a beach trip or warm weather date night, Urban Outfitters will have you covered. I just love this chambray ruffled skirt for a great warm weather staple.
Even if you describe your style as classic or preppy, like me, if you haven’t made your way to Urban Outfitters recently, I highly recommend doing so. Currently, they have the sweetest selection of dresses, skirts, and tops that will naturally make their way into your closet. Sometimes it takes visiting a store out of your comfort zone to find some absolutely amazing pieces.
Love from NYC,
Katie
