I probably first found a love for the Ferragamo Vara when Sydney at Summer Wind wrote about them on her blog. I’m convinced they are the perfect shoe. With a comfortable heel, darling bow detail, and versatile colors, they check all of the boxes. I absolutely had to have a pair in my closet. The only issue? The price tag is pretty steep and would make them my most expensive pair of shoes by far.
While I was in Rome for my honeymoon, I was overcome by being on vacation and the European shopping culture. I walked right into the Ferragamo boutique on Via dei Condotti and walked out with my very own pair of Vara heels in this beautiful oxford blue. I can partially blame the discounted tax, but I really just wanted to buy a great souvenir and celebrate all of the accomplishments from the summer.
I loved my navy heels so much, I just had to have another pair! That being said, I don’t have the means to buy another pair of $600 shoes on a whim. Since the Vara is so classic, and very rarely goes on sale, my hunt turned to The RealReal.
If you’ve never heard of The RealReal, let me introduce you! I also want to apologize because it may just become your newest obsession and pain to your wallet. I think this is the ultimate source for online luxury consignment. If you are looking for anything designer, chances are you will eventually find it on this site. I particularly could spend hours just perusing their Hermes scarf section. And these $600 Ferragamo heels? They were all mine for just $80 and in almost perfect condition.
As I said before, definitely shop at your own risk. This website is the real deal and it’s way easy to do some major damage. On the other hand, you’ll be able to find the most amazing deals for some of your favorite designer names. Happy shopping!
Love from NYC,
Katie
