Sometimes I wonder about the things I do for the blog, like standing in front of a very crowded MET… on the coldest day we’ve had… in a tee and pencil skirt! Thank goodness I have such a supportive photographer/husband who will follow me almost anywhere to get content! He even held my jacket for me and wrapped me up in between waves of people. Anyways, the reason for risking hypothermia (not even close) was because I wanted to grab the shot to show off my new outfit from Talbots. I was absolutely floored when they reached out to work with me to promote their Family & Friends Sale. We all know how much I love this store, I probably talk about it once a week, so this has turned into a dream come true!
I’ve been on a major monochromatic kick recently. I secretly think Meghan Markle has partial blame here, but I’m not complaining. I love how effortless it is to throw on a matching set and waltz right out the door, but still feel absolutely chic. Even if it’s not head-to-toe black, wearing a single color is still very slimming. If you grab the right items, it simply looks like you’re wearing a dress without losing the versatility of individual pieces. This gorgeous maroon color is called Merlot and I just think it’s perfect for Fall. The hue is warm and inviting, but still has a jewel tone quality that will look good on any skin tone.
Now, on to the details! This tee from Talbots has a 3/4-length sleeve, making it a great workwear option. Not to mention, you can just feel the high quality of this shirt! There’s nothing worse than buying a tee, only to have it not be the same after a single wash. That won’t be the case here and the same can be said about my Talbot’s ponte pencil skirt. The stretch material means it’s going to fit all kinds of body types and actually move with you while you run through the day.
