While so many people of dreaming of a White Christmas, there’s one sunny destination that is just perfect for the holidays. Palm Beach is one of my favorite spots in the Sunshine State. While I won’t be heading there until New Year’s Eve, I have visions of Palm Beach-inspired gift dancing in my head. In this Holiday Gift Guide, you’ll find 12 ideas that will be right at home at The Breakers, The Colony, or on Worth Avenue.
Coffee Table Book
Daydreaming about travel keeps me sane and happy all year round, but it gets heightened closer to the new year. A new calendar, a whole opportunity to schedule wonderful trips! These coffee table books from Assouline are inspired by some of the most incredible destinations in the world: Tuscany, Mykonos, and of course, Palm Beach. Gift a favorite to your most jet-set of friends and start their very own collection.
Rattan Glass Set
As you spend Christmas Day poolside, it’s crucial to have a beach cocktail close at hand. I’ve long loved Amanda Lindroth for all things dining room decor. The next thing on my list is a sweet set of rattan accented glasses. They come in several different colors to match the style of anyone on your shopping list.
Monogrammed Beach Towel
Don’t let your loved ones fall victim to a sandy bottom, even on the sands of Palm Beach. Instead, gift them a colorful and absorbent towel from a women-owned small business. Weezie beach towels are simply the best! Don’t forget to add their name or monogram embroidery for a personal touch.
Intarsia Sweater
One souvenir that I can’t say no to is a fun, intarsia sweater. You often see them for quintessential New England locations, like Newport or Vermont (I have both). Ellsworth and Ivey is a woman-owned business specializing in these fun sweaters with detailing that span the entire country. The cozy, cotton blend sweaters can be worn year-round, especially on a sunny December Palm Beach day.
Nap Dress
Hill House Home has long been one of my favorite designers. Their floral prints are always absolutely stunning and can be worn virtually year-round. This dress is perfect for post-dinner cocktails at the HMF or wandering through the Vias. Gift one of their signature nap dresses for the holiday season, or think long-term and gift an option that will be perfect for any future warm-weather escapes!
Raffia Loafers
Stubbs and Wootton launched in Palm Beach back in 1993. While the roots may be in the Sunshine State, you can find their influence and style the world over. Their loafers, especially the ones with cheeky phrases, are effortlessly cool. This raffia-inspired pair would be incredibly versatile and will look great as you stroll out of their boutique on Worth Avenue.
Floral Perfume
There are so many incredibly stylish women who call Palm Beach home by way of New York or Europe. Aerin Lauder is one of those women, and I can’t help but love her AERIN perfume collection. Each scent is unique, and I often swap them to match my mood or event. A current favorite is Hibiscus Palm. With a combination of lotus flowers and ylang-ylang, it will become an instant classic.
Framed Matchbook Print
Have you ever had such an incredible meal out that you want to remember it forever? Maybe it was the incredible food, ever better company, or memories made from celebrating a special occasion. It’s hard to find a souvenir from a favorite restaurant, but a framed matchbook print may be the best solution. I’ve started my own collection with a print of the Gasparilla Inn and the Dunmore, but I may need to add a Palm Beach inspired print to that list. There are so many to choose from, but the Colony Hotel will always have such great memories for me. It’s where I celebrated my bachelorette weekend. Which print is your favorite?
Pink Lettuceware Set
Lettuceware of any variety was a hot item in Palm Beach, Florida, during the 1960s. There’s something so fun and whimsical about them. For whatever reason, it gives me visions of a tea party from Alice in Wonderland. This cup and saucer set from Tory Burch are perfect to start a collection. Be sure to include your favorite flavor of tea bags for a complete gift.
Postcard Needlepoint
Needlepoint has taken the world by storm and has seen the greatest resurgence, especially in Palm Beach. My grandma taught me how to crochet and cross-stitch, but in 2023 I hope to give needlepointing a try. Etsy is flush with whimsical or tongue-in-cheek canvas, but always be sure to look at the gems from Lycette. They have so many designs that are perfectly made for your Palm Beach vacation.
Jack Roger Sandals
The natural habitat of the Jack Roger sandal is hands down, the streets of Palm Beach. They were a favorite of Jackie Kennedy, and honestly, do I need to say more? The number of colors and styles has exploded since the 1960s. Now, they can be monogrammed and include seasonal motifs. They’ve even made their way to flats and boots. When it comes to gifting, keep it simple with a pair of their most classic style, the Jack sandal! White is perfect for Palm Beach, but I’m partial to a black or gold pair for the chicer option.
Coffee Bar Cookbook
No trip to Palm Beach is complete without a coffee and pastry at Sant Ambroeus. While it’s usually associated with Manhattan, the location at Poinciana Plaza is iconic. I received the official Sant Ambroeus Cookbook last Christmas and it was the perfect addition to my library. It includes the recipes to local favorite pastries and bites. Not to mention, the book is absolutely stunning and is truly a feast for the eyes!
Palm Beach is truly something special. In just under 4 hours, I can leave my little corner in St. Pete and drive into perfectly manicured streets and shops. It’s such a wonderful holiday destination, and I can’t wait to ring in 2023 on Worth Avenue. Cheers!
