Now that Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, it feels like shopping for the holidays is about to go into overdrive. If you haven’t already started, don’t sweat it! I have several guides to help you find the perfect gift for even the toughest of recipients. Since holiday parties tend to begin well before Christmas Day, here is my official gift guide for the hostess in your life. These 12 ideas are sure to delight, no matter the personality!
Festive Kitchen Towel
Typically, I stay away from giving overtly Christmas or holiday-themed gifts. The idea of a loved one being able to use a gift year round is very satisfying. However, when I saw this festive kitchen towel set from Weezie, I knew it would make the hostess gift. I’ve partnered with Weezie a handful of times because I genuinely love the products they create. Their kitchen towels are incredibly effective and do so much to brighten up the room.
Body Scrub Set
Hostesses work so hard during an event to keep all of their guests happy, fed, and entertained. Afterward, they deserve a moment to relax and soak in a job well done. This sugar scrub set will help them with just that. They can pick one of the six decadent scents and recreate a mini spa day. A bubble bath, a glass of wine, and a cozy robe are all optional but highly encouraged!
Statement Coffee Mug
Ah, the quintessential gift, the coffee mug! Although it’s borderline cliche, the mug can still elevate it into a very thoughtful and personal gift. All it takes is just a little bit of forethought. Find a cup that matches your loved one’s personality. This mug from Jonathan Adler is so eye-catching. Pair the mug with a coffee or tea set, depending on their preference. I brought home tea from Palais de ThĂ©s while in Paris, but this tea set is perfect for the holiday season.
Oversized Blanket
The need to snuggle with an oversized blanket gets stronger and stronger as the weather gets cooler. Add a fun movie and a big bowl of popcorn, and I’m in heaven! Chappy Wrap is a woman-owned, New England-based company that I have long admired. They have a rainbow of cozy blankets to match countless design styles. Gift a blanket that matches the holiday season, like Carly Riordan’s collection, or pick an option that matches their personality.
Organic Candle
I think candles always make for the perfect last-minute gift idea. They’re truly a crowd-pleaser and come at any price point. If you go this route, make it a tiny splurge and pick a high-quality candle, preferably made from all-natural ingredients. Ceremonia is one of my favorite brands because it is cruelty and sulfate free. Your loved one can even use the ceramic jar long after the candle is gone.Â
Dessert Plates
My job dropped when I first laid eyes on these darling set of dessert plates. I’m such a sucker for quirky expressions, especially on kitchenware. When the hostess serves up a favorite Christmas desert, mint chocolate pie is always my preference, the guests will appreciate this gift just as much.
Versatile Cookbook
As someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen, cookbooks are one of my favorite gifts to send and receive. After all, food is love! With cookbooks, you can help a novice refine their cooking skills or add something new to someone’s already impressive repertoire. As I was shopping, so many new editions caught my idea! Dining In is on the list because it has so many crowd-pleasing recipes. This book is even prettier in person, allowing the recipient to display it proudly in the kitchen.Â
Cozy Slippers
After a night of hosting, everyone deserves to kick up their feet and relax. Especially if you live in a colder climate, these fuzzy slippers from J. Crew would be such a thoughtful and often used gift. There are a few different color options: girly pink, neutral tan, or eye-catching gold. Make your best guess on size, but a gift card is always a great backup plan if you aren’t very confident.
Olive Oil Set
Over the past few years, I’ve begun to prioritize buying quality olive oils. The difference it’s made while I’ve been in the kitchen has been incredible. Brightland olive oil has become my favorite because its flavors speak for themselves. This duo olive oil set is the perfect gift for the hostess often found in the kitchen because it includes their two most popular styles. That’s two different flavors, two purposes, and two different ways to bring your dishes up a notch.
Colored Coupe Set
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you probably know that a coupe glass set from Estelle’s Colored Glass is almost always on my gift guides. That’s because they are simply stunning and deserve to have a place on the bar cart. They come in a rainbow of colors (literally) and come in stemmed, seamless, and coupe options. Pick a style and shade that best matches the hostess’ style, and they may be tempted to use them right away.
Beautiful Board Game Set
When I joined the Kennedy family, I quickly learned how cherished board games were during the holiday. It’s a tradition that I can’t wait to have with my own family. Clue is a classic, and the teacher in me just loves it! This particular version was made specifically for Anthropologie and includes a beautiful garden bistro design. No matter the ages at the holiday dinner, this will be a hit with everyone!
1000 Piece Puzzle
My grandma always loved a good jigsaw puzzle. It’s such a fun way to spend a few hours with loved ones, especially on a cold winter day. This puzzle from Shopbop is by memorable meals and is just the right picture for the holiday season. At under $40, it’s perfect if you need that one extra gift to put under the tree.
Never show up to a holiday party empty handed, even if it’s simply a good bottle of wine! With this Hostess Gift Guide, your friends will feel so loved. Don’t be surprised if you become the favorite guest for years to come!
