The Fashionable Sister, Niece, or Cousin
This sweet little handbag from Staud comes in a rainbow of patterns and colors. It’s the perfect accessory for dinner out and makes quite a statement. I personally love this light blue and cream color combination because it’s an update on the classic zebra print. It’s a must-have for any NYE celebration.
The Musician, Tech Guru, or Old Soul
What’s old is new again, which is doubly true for a vintage-inspired record player. The idea of setting up with a collection of Mo-town sounds like exactly what I need to decompress. Better still, this record player is entirely transportable, just in case you want classic tunes while on vacation.
The Frequent Traveler, Power-Walker, or Sneaker Head
I don’t think I can rave about my Veja sneakers enough! I wore them on my recent trip to NYC and didn’t even have the slightest ache. These sneakers are particularly great for the frequent traveler or are event popular amongst the stylish set in Paris. Help a loved one up their shoe game with any style that Veja offers.
The History Buff, Francophile or Cocktail Connoisseur
This set of Champagne coupe glasses checks all of the boxes. They are inspired by the Ritz Paris, a favorite of Ernest Hemingway, and even have a cocktail recipe to match! Also, check this off as an excellent gift for the newly engaged couple. While looking at this brand, I also found a similar set inspired by Casablanca, my all-time favorite movie!
The Teacher, Engineer, or Kid Relative
I may not be a parent yet, but I highly recommend adding some STEAM-based gifts to your child’s shopping list as a former teacher. They help inspire, teach problem-solving and can be activities for the whole family. This solar-powered robotics kit is perfect for ages 8 through 14, but don’t be surprised if you want one for yourself.
The Fitness Buff, Remote Worker, or Mom on the Go
Weighing just a pound each, the Bala weighted bangle set can be added to nearly any workout or just worn around the house. Bala offers an entire line of sleek tools to really up their training. Loved ones who work from home, they can help create a mini-workout as they bounce around the house.
The Grandparent, Long-Distance Relative, or Budding Photographer
Since we take so many pictures when we travel, a digital picture frame is actually pretty high on our list! This one is particularly easy for those who aren’t as tech-savvy. Simply send pictures to your email, and it will instantly upload for you. Give your grandparents or long-distance family members quick access to your family memories and adventures.
The Royal Watcher, Grand Millennial, or Bauble Collector
I included both of these earrings because I have both and am a huge fan! The first pair is a stunning pair of sapphire studs that seem to be straight from Princess Diana’s collection. The second pair is inspired by classic chinoiserie jars and is at an incredible price. Each would be an excellent stocking stuffer and can accessorize year-round.
The Novice Baker, Dessert Lover, or Suzy Homemaker
Although I view the stand mixer as a baking-focused gift, it’s perfect for anyone in the kitchen. This mixer from Cuisinart comes in a pretty shade of blue and won’t quite break the bank like similar mixers. Mix, knead, whisk, and so much more with the must-have kitchen gadget.
The Hostess, Social Butterfly, or Strategist
Made with high-gloss acrylic and detailed with a beautiful geometric pattern, this Jonathan Adler backgammon set is perfect for an afternoon of fun while doubling as a work of art. Breakout during downtime at the holiday party or pack up to have an easy activity while on vacation.
The Homebody, Ski Bunny, or Up-North Friend
These have been my go-to slippers for years. Since I’m an absolute wimp to cold weather, I can personally attest to how warm my feet stay. The slippers are also available in a rainbow of colors. What can I say? These slippers are just the best! They’re at a great price point, have rubber soles for indoor-outdoor use, and last forever! Pair with a cozy pair of pajamas for the quintessential holiday gift.
The Novice Julia Child, Bookophile, or Epicurean
I don’t know if it’s indicative of my age, but I’ve recently been really into collecting cookbooks. It’s something my grandma also did, resulting in an entire library of books. While my collection is still in its novice stages, I’m always looking for something new to add and hopefully learn from. While the possibilities are endless, these two are on the top of my list. First, Maman was a favorite brunch spot while in the city. The cookies were the star of the show, but I am obsessed with their quiche. The second is Cook This Book from food editor and recipe developer Molly Baz. The recipes that I’ve seen sneak peeks look absolutely heavenly!
Once again, there’s still time to holiday shop. I hope you found some inspiration with this gift guide for last minute finds. So, don’t panic if all hope seems lost. Especially if you’re traveling for the holidays, often your presence will be a gift enough. That being said, maybe a little gift card to their favorite restaurant or shop will be a welcome gesture! I’ll be quieting down over the next few day to round out 2021. So if I don’t see you around, have the happiest of holidays!
Love from New York,
Katie
