Shining Bright for the New Year
Dress (also) || Heels (similar) || Clutch || Earrings
Goodbye 2020! As my grandpa used to say, “don’t let the door hit you on the a** on your way out.” He had such a way with words! Still, there’s no truer sentiment than that this New Year’s Eve. I’m equal parts exhausted and thankful that such a year is finally coming to a close. I know it hasn’t all been bad. In fact, you should stop by my last blog post for proof that some good did actually happen in the year 2020!
As far as NYE plans, I’m happy to say that David and I are having a quiet night in. We originally had dinner reservations at a new-to-us restaurant downtown, but I just couldn’t get myself excited about it. Truth be told, Tripp had a little health scare with a sizable bill and it seemed sort of reckless to spend more money and time away from him. Instead, I’ve crafted a decadent dinner menu for two and ring in the new year at home. I’m most excited about sipping on Kir Royales and relaxing to a Frank Sinatra playlist.
Even though we’re staying home, it’s still an opportunity to dress up for the occasion. This dress just screams NYE. The rainbow metallic stripes are just so festive. Honestly, I wish I could wear this all year long. There’s a lot of speculations of what the year 2021 holds for fashion trends. Consider me a plus one of the notion of overdressing and celebrating everything! Roaring Twenties, here we come!
On special occasions, I like to break out the most cherished pair of shoes in my collection. These silver Loeffler Randall heels were worn on my wedding day. Instead of boxing them away, never to be seen again, I like to wear them every once in a while… anniversaries, birthdays, and of course, holidays. While they are sadly sold out, you can find a similar pair from Sarah Flint. Be sure to use the code SARAHFLINT-BAKATIE for $50 off of your first pair.
I’m wishing each and every one of you a happy new year! Celebrate in the grandest and safest way possible. I’ll see you on the other side of this infamous year, in 2021.
Love from Florida,
Katie
