Little Black Sundress
Dress || Wedges || Clutch || Earrings || Watch || Bracelet
My entire life, I’ve been hearing about the importance of owning that perfect little black dress. Holly Golighly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s was the epitome of that lesson and showed me to keep the style timeless and classic. In my closet, I have no less than three or four LBDs for when the occasion strikes. Since I’m back in Florida, I noticed one style where I was seriously lacking! What about a little black sundress?
Even if you live somewhere with cooler weather, I’m convinced that a LBSD is a closet must have. In the summertime, it makes for a great dressier option if you have a fun date night out. On vacation, a black sundress is the kind of piece to wear while exploring your destination. You’ll look effortlessly chic, with just a slight twist of beach.
Finding a LBSD wasn’t something I did lightly. For it to be perfect, I was hoping it to be extra roomy, and with just the right amount of flow. This little dress from Topshop hit the nail on the head. It was oversized, making it very comfy, with a ruffled sleeve detail. Even better, the fabric has a sweet, sheer gingham design that I instantly swooned over!
Just like your standard little black dress, the options for accessorizing are endless! Personally, I know that I tend to keep things pretty monochromatic, but don’t be afraid to add a strong accent color! My sundress was just asking for fun, coastal pieces. So, I turned to two of the most used items in my closet. I have worn my bamboo arc clutch from Cult Gaia and black espadrille wedges from Castañer at least once a week since moving back. Going into the Spring and Summer months, I don’t expect that to slow down any time soon!
With Spring Break just around the corner, you’re absolutely going to want to be prepped with gorgeous pieces. By adding a little black sundress, you’ll have a closet staple that will work for date nights, work functions, and everything in between! Look for eye-catching fabrics, fun details, and a healthy amount of personality. It’s a refreshing take on an age old classic.
