Walking in a Winder Wonderland with Talbots

I’m back in sunny Florida, but this entire week is dedicated to all things winter to share my most recent trip to Vermont. By my standards, it looked like an absolute winter wonderland. Since David’s childhood home backs right up to 50 plus acres of forest, I was able to do some wandering and exploring. It felt like we had the entire world to ourselves.
Although this wasn’t my first trip to Vermont, I was still in awe of the sheer splendor of it all. I couldn’t have grown up in a different setting from David. I’m used to sand (not snow) and beaches (not mountains). It’s hard to believe that all of this was literally in David’s backyard. He fondly talks about childhood memories of mountain biking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
When you’re dealing with near freezing temperatures and a foot of snow, it’s no walk in the park. It’s important to remember layers because you’ll warm right up, even on the coldest day. I doubled up with this incredibly cozy fair isle sweater and navy tee combo, both from Talbots. Since this was during the holidays, and everything seemed to be a mix of green and red, the pattern on this sweater was so fresh and fun. I love how I’ll be able to wear it well into the winter season. Better still, my sweater is for sale at a huge discount. It can be yours for just under $40!
Another super crucial element to this winter wonderland outfit was the proper headwear. We lose a huge percentage of our body heat through our heads, which makes a cold day feel even colder. By adding just a little something, even a simple beanie, you’ll feel more comfortable outside. This beanie, also from Talbots, is oh so soft and comes in the cheeriest shade of red. I love the contrasting color still worked with my fair isle pattern. One last note.. Don’t forget the proper footwear!
Whether you call the north home or you’ll be visiting at some point this season, get out and enjoy the crisp air! Play in the snow until your cheeks are rosy and your hands are numb! If you’re loving this cold weather inspiration, be sure to check back this entire week while I share all that Vermont has to offer!
Love from Florida,
Katie
