Back to Tweed
Dress || Boots || Handbag || Earrings || Bracelet || Watch
My ideal closet is filled with sundresses and espadrilles to wear on a warm day. I’m a summer kind of girl, through and through, and there’s not much that can change that. Even though I’m sad to see summer over, there are a lot of perks to a new fall wardrobe. Namely, I get to reintroduce tweed into my normal rotation. It’s one of my favorite fabrics and is just right for cooler weather.
Last year, my first year in New York, was my first year really embracing the tweed. Originally posted here and here, I fell in love. It’s a versatile little fabric that can be dressed for almost any occasion. Work, church, date night, tweed has you completely covered.
I may be biased, but no one does tweed better than LOFT. Every year they come out with beautiful new color combinations and materials. Last year, I decided to invest into two of their tweed skirts. Both were different shades of pinks that I was able to style into the spring. I still get compliments whenever I wear them.
This season, I couldn’t live without this gorgeous tweed shift dress from LOFT. Pictures truly don’t do this little number justice. The colors are a beautiful combination of navy, turquoise, and white. The fringed hemline makes for such a fun detail. The best thing about this dress is that it can be styled for when the really cold weather hits. Slip on a pair of my fleece-lined tights or layer a turtleneck and I’ll be ready for anything… Almost!
This also seemed like the best time to breakout my new boots for the season. I’ve been searching for a perfect pair of suede knee-high boots probably since the summer. This pair from Sam Edelman checked off all of the boxes. Without having to break the bank, I finally found a pair of comfortable heeled boots that actually fit my athletic calves. I consider it to be a double win.
Whether it’s a pair of shoes or a dress, a change in season is always the best excuse to add a new piece to your closet. Although it doesn’t have to be a complete overhaul, don’t feel guilty in treating yourself. After all, what’s the worst thing that could happen?
Love from NYC,
Katie
