Arizona Inspired
Graphic Tee || Wide-Leg Jeans || Raffia Wedges || Cactus Crossbody || Earrings || Bracelet || Watch
So, normally when I talk about inspiration it’s because I’m talking about a place I’ve visited. That is not the case today. This weekend I’m running solo because my husband, David, is on an amazing work trip to hike the Grand Canyon with a quick stop in Las Vegas. I’m having a slight case of FOMO, also known as ‘fear of missing out’. I just need to remember that I went to Paris without him and he totally deserves a fun trip too. Even though I didn’t get tag along, I still felt inspired to look for some Arizona and desert pieces.
You can’t really have a conversation about Arizona without bringing up cactus. This little plant is synonymous with the American desert. Being from Florida, I’ve never really spent time in a desert. I’m typically more about palm trees than cacti. This was the perfect opportunity to hunt some pieces down to really embrace a new motif. Cactus pieces are everywhere and you don’t have to be from the southwest to embrace it.
I’m not sure if the Cactus Club is a really place, but I would love to visit and still love this retro inspired graphic tee. Anthropologie always has the best selection for tees! This particular top is buttery soft and in the sweetest shade of blush pink. It’s a little on the pricier side, but the quality is all there.
Really learning into the theme, I couldn’t say no to this cactus crossbody bag from Nordstrom. Even though it’s in a neutral colors, it still makes a quite a statement. I’m happy to say it’s just a functional as it is darling. You can hold you wallet, cell phone, or whatever else you need for a day out.
Some runner-ups for favorite cactus inspired pieces would have to include this tee from J. Crew. It has a bolder color tone and a whimsical print that is hard to say no to. For a subtle touch of cactus, these dainty dangling earrings may the be best choice for you. They look super lightweight and add a bit of character to your outfit.
If you’re having a cactus moment like me, be sure to see my shop guide down below. To my southwest readers, I can safely say I get where you’re coming. Adding desert inspiration is such a fun change of pace for the summer. It’s making me want to grab a ticket to visit your corner of the country.
Love from NYC,
Katie
