Boho Style in the UES
Dress || Sandals || Clutch ||Earrings || Watch || Bracelet
I very recently talked about my love for boho style a few weeks ago, here. Normally, I try to add some classic pieces to mix in the inspiration from our Upper East side neighborhood. While a lot of the women in the UES are incredibly stylish, I would never describe their style as free-spirited. I, on the other hand, have no problem with going full bohemian and I never felt that vibe more than with this dress.
This dress, from Amazon, has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. Normally, I don’t do my clothes shopping from Amazon, but I was heavily influenced. Some of my favorite bloggers, especially Grace from The Stripe, has been positively raving about it and I had to see the hype for myself. Let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed. If you can get past picking one of the 24 patterns, a gorgeous dress will be delivered to your door for under $30. At that price point you can afford to grab two or three if you can’t decide on one.
For the summer time, I kept the outfit extremely relaxed with my brown sandals from Hermes and bamboo clutch from Cult Gaia. I already have big plans for how to transition this dress into the fall. Because most of the color options are full of rich, jewel tones, it’s going to be a piece of cake. I love the idea of adding an oversized faux fur vest and heeled leather boots. Even a felt, wide-brim hat could be an option for good measure. The sky is the limit with long-sleeves.
My favorite element of this dress is how many compliments I received. Yes, I know how shallow that sounds. I even convinced some of my co-workers to order it on the spot. It’s one thing for myself to love a dress, but another to see the love from others. Honestly, there isn’t a better feeling as a style blogger. My husband didn’t love the dress quite as much as I did, but I’m convinced he’ll come around eventually.
When your personal style doesn’t match with what’s around your neighborhood, it can be tough to find that balance. Either way, if you love what you wear and feel confident, you’re going to stand out in the best possible way. That’s even true if you have boho style in the UES.
Love from NYC,
