After a few months away from writing on the blog, I’m excited to be back just in time for my favorite season. Fall always brings a sense of renewal and anticipation, and this year is no exception. With the crisp air and vibrant colors on the horizon, there’s so much to look forward to. Here’s a peek at what’s on the agenda this autumn.
Decorating our New Apartment
I’m lovingly referring to our new space as L’appartement. Drawing inspiration from the elegant charm of Parisian design and the cozy, inviting aesthetic of Nancy Meyers movies, I’ll be curating a space that feels both timeless and warm. From gilded mirrors and soft, neutral tones to plush textiles and vintage finds, every detail will be carefully chosen to create a home that feels like a true retreat. It will be a blend of classic European style with a touch of modern comfort, perfect for our little family as we settle into this new chapter.
Black Tie Wedding at the Gasparilla Inn
We’re also heading back to Florida for our annual visit to the Gasparilla Inn in Florida. This time we’re happily celebrating our dear friends for a black-tie wedding. It’s always a treat to return to this elegant destination, and we’re looking forward to celebrating our dear friends in style. My parents will be joining us to help with little Brennan, so we’ll have plenty of time to soak up the sun at the Beach Club. The combination of a stunning venue, great company, and beautiful weather makes this a weekend we’re truly excited for.
Brunch and Antiquing in Litchfield
When the leaves are at their peak, we’re planning a trip up to Litchfield County for a day of brunching and antiquing. We’ll start with a leisurely meal at the Mayflower Inn, where the fall scenery will be just as delightful as the food. After brunch, it’s all about finding hidden treasures in the local antique shops. There’s something so satisfying about the thrill of the hunt, and I’m hoping to bring home a few unique pieces to add to our new apartment.
Day Trip to Mystic
In October, my parents are coming to visit, and we’ve already penciled in a day trip to Mystic, Connecticut. It’ll be my first time exploring this charming seaside town, and I can’t wait to visit the Mystic Seaport Museum. The historic ships and maritime exhibits are sure to be fascinating, and I’m eager to soak in the New England coastal vibes. Strolling along the waterfront and maybe even grabbing a bowl of clam chowder will complete the quintessential Connecticut experience.
Fall Wedding in Colorado
Our final fall adventure takes us to the breathtaking Colorado Rockies for another wedding. This time, we’re heading to Denver, a city I’ve grown to love over the years. There’s something so special about celebrating love against the backdrop of the Rockies, especially with the crisp fall air and golden aspens adding to the magic. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the season before we settle in for a cozy winter at home.
As the leaves change and the air turns crisp, I’m so happy to be back writing and sharing our fall adventures. Here’s to a season filled with cherished memories and new experiences!
Love from Connecticut,
Katie
